    MATERIALS:

  • 1 pair of Size 13 Needles
  • 2 Skeins Of Opal Sock Yarn [100 gm. skeins] (Opal Mosaic #1116 used)
  • Yarn Needle

    GAUGE: Gauge is not important

    SIZE: One size fits all

    STITCH PATTERN:

  • ROW 1: K1 *YO, Sl 1, K1, YO, PSSO the knit st. and following YO. Repeat from *
  • ROW 2: *P2, drop YO from previous row, repeat from * end P1
  • ROW 3: K2, repeat from * of row 1, end K1
  • ROW 4: P3 *drop YO of previous row, P2, repeat from *

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOTH SHAWL AND PONCHO:
    Cast On 99 sts, work rows 1-4 approximately 43x until piece measures 55"
    When piece measures 55" LOOSELY Bind Off.

    FINISH FOR BOTH SHAWL AND PONCHO:
    Cut 18" strands of yarn for fringe. Add to both short ends of piece. Shawl is complete

    TURN SHAWL INTO A PONCHO:
    Fold Shawl in half, and stitch from the fringe end of shawl to the folded edge, leaving
    a 12" opening for neck as shown in sample below:
